Gday, headed to Trysil, Norway to try my hand at snowboarding. I am unsure of what the visibility conditions are like in Trysil and have been unable to find anything online. I am not sure what colour lens goggles to buy as I have not been snowboarding through Europe/this far north before with already short daylight hours. Thanks

Yeah I have had a look but currently broke af and just skimping through to be able to afford everything, just don’t want to shoot myself in the foot and buy goggles that are too dark

Any low light ones should do. Hi-yellow, hi persimmon both fine for me when skied there recently. Most instructors in Myrkdalen etc I met seem to favour Oakley hi-pink.

IMV. Whatever you get, should be versatile enough to be able to cope with a variety of conditions - Which either means a spare lens, a photochromic lens, or a lens that can get you by in most conditions eg. Prizm Rose

Does Trysil have floodlit skiing? Get a clear spare lens if it does.

clear is best for floodlight skiing (and they tend to be the cheapest )

Yellow or pink. Decathlon do very reasonable Hi yellow cat 1 goggles if budget is an issue.
Pink a bit harder on a budget but Dragon best lens technology is available even in cheaper frames ( unlike some of the bigger goggle brands) so you might find a pink ion for a sensible price.

Mostly in agreement with the recommendations above about a low light lens. But don't forget that it can still be brilliant sunshine so you need something to cope with that (sunglasses maybe). For floodlit skiing, many people simply take their goggles off which works fine as long as it's not snowing or v windy.

Decathlon Cat1 goggles are absolutely fine. I have some and they work perfectly well in everything up to full sun. I find that photochromic lenses are way too dark, even in overcast conditions. They never get as light as cat 1.

Nope...
The Julbo cat 0-4 lenses for example. Many of their lenses cover cat 1 and more, but I'd want clear for night skiing myself.
Salomon photochromic goggles (which I have) come with a "free" spare clear lens as their range isn't as broad as the Julbo. I've used those for very cold night riding and they're as good as it gets.
In Finland it may easily be mid minus 20s. You can't ride with exposed skin there: you need goggles. Ditto BC night skiing, where I've ridden in minus 38.
