Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot liner - tear

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead

I’d be interested in any thoughts on whether this tear on my liner is likely to affect the performance of my boot and if, after 6 weeks of skiing, this would be considered ‘wear and tear’ or a problem with the liner? I bought the boots and liner in 2020 as part of a custom fitting.

@Mr Blue Sky, It won't affect anything. Easily tidied up with a bit of duct tape.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@under a new name, thanks! I'll probably go with that suggestion

@Mr Blue Sky, I have a very similar problem with one of my liners. In my case it's caused by the liner getting trapped between the two halves of the boot shell when I take the boot off. Not caused a noticeable problem in 10 weeks or so since.

@mgrolf, thanks for the reply. Have you patched yours up or just left as is?

@Mr Blue Sky, just left as is. Any patch would just get chewed up by the jaws of death that are the boot shell overlap.

@mgrolf, thanks. Good to know it hasn’t had an impact leaving it as is.

Duct tape will end up a rolled up sticky mess ..as some strange force must have caused that elastic too split in the first place also the liner is starting to split .
Where is the liner tongue ?
I cant see it in the photo I guess it must be pushed back inside or whatever ?

The above is for liner pricing info only but perhaps its time too get a S4F booking for xmas rather than flogging a dead horse and buying wrong in resort out of frustration in high season

it won't cause any issues, in fact we regularly cut the elastic if we need more volume in that area, if you want to tidy it up you could just run a couple of stitche scross the tear, don't use tape it will end up as a mess vey quickly

Thanks all for your advice.

@CEM really appreciate the response, I am going to leave as is based on your reassuring response. I've had my eye on your business for when I do get round to needing new boots and liners! Cheers.
