Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hyra Mens Jacket size mystery

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Please excue me but I find it difficult to understand the equivalent sizes of some of these EU brands.
In the UK we used to use chest sizes in inches.
If we went to Marks & Spencers we learnt that XL was up about 46" circumference or perhaps XXL
But all these "Johnny Foreigner" sizes we are having to deal with now just don't make sense.

I was looking at a jacket on Sports Persuit. and the size guide:

Trying to phaaf around with measuring armpit to armpit seems to make life so complicated, and I find the results still wrong.

Has anyone got a proper conversion chart?

I think the sizing is more or less the same, but my Hyra jacket in Medium is definitely a slimmer fit than my previous Spyder jacket.

If you're a 46" chest then you probably want to be looking for at least an XXL and maybe a XXXL in Hyra.

I've always throught the UK Standard (M&S) chest sizing was:

M: 38-40"
L: 40-42"
XL: 42-44"
XXL: 44-46"

so I suspect an XL is definitely going to be a bit tight and even an XXL in Hrya might not be large enough

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

When my Daughter bought a Hyra jacked, she found she needed 2 sizes bigger than she would usually get - and even that was a bit tight.

The Italian numeric sizes are about 10 higher, so 52 is about the same as a UK 42. Or certainly that is the case with motorcycle leathers!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'd agree with that in principle - where it gets irritating is that Dainese and others will happily sell you trousers marked with the same figure (54 or whatever) which bears no resemblance to the actual waist size . At least the jacket sizes are somewhat literal.
