Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Italy now recognizes BASI L4 + CTT

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
BASI have signed a MOU with the Italian snowsports body to recognize BASI L4 instructors with CTT level compensatory tests taken in Italy.

https://www.basi.org.uk/BASI/Home_Page_News/UK_and_Italy_sign_new_Professional_Snowsports_Qualification_Recognition_Agreement.aspx

I'm not sure what the situation was prior to this MOU.

You obviously still need a work permit.

@davidof, plus the issue that it's difficult/neigh on impossible to now take CTT tests through BASI.

It would mean that those already with the qualification could work self employed for 90 days in Aosta though.

As reciprocal agreement this means an Italian maestro could now apply for a visa to come and work in Aviemore too Laughing wink

That's the same as France isn't it? According to the BASI website:

Quote:
BASI have a new agreement with the DDCS & PNMESA which will allow the BASI Alpine L4 ISTD qualification to be formally recognised in France and provide a pathway to a Carte Pro – provided that an additional test is passed.

If a BASI member enters and passes a Speed Test (exact name to be confirmed but using the same standard as the CTT) on French soil, it would be viewed as a “Bolt On” to the L4 qualification and would meet the requirements for equivalence. A successful pass of this test would effectively replace the ISIA speed test for that member. It is important to note that this is NOT a CTT event and therefore none of the legal entitlements for working across the EU would come with it – it would only apply to France. We will communicate more details on the France speed test itself in due course.

So now you need to do a country specific EuroTest/CTT as they are now only valid in the "host country". Well done us......

I thought it was now impossible. BASIO say:

Quote:
As stated in our previous update, if you are a British Citizen, regardless of what association you are a member of, you are not permitted to enter the CTT (formally known as Eurotest). A BASI member with an EU passport is also not permitted to enter the CTT.

You'd think so, but no, not strictly. I know someone in France that took the Eurotest last season with a British Passport and BASI qualification. Also I had this message from the German Association:

"Participation in the CTT: If you obtained your qualification before Brexit, you can participate in the CTT", now they just assumed i'm BASI but actually i'm IASI, so that's an interesting conversation for me to have some time in the future Laughing
