Poster: A snowHead

Hey guys, I went my first ski holiday this year with my girl friend to Soll and it was great.
Im now looking at booking Andorra for a big group of us (around 10 people) mainly beginners in Skiing/Snowboarding.
We want to fly from Glasgow and will probably be looking to book ski school or snow board lessons. I am looking to arrange to the flights/accomodation/equipment hire/lesson all sepratly or should I be looking for package deal?
Any one got any tips on good websites for Accomodation in Andorra, cheap flight to there from glasgow and information on tuition and transfers?
PS we are looking at andorra because of the night life so any suggestions on what resort in Andorra would be good too. My first thought is PAS DE LA CASA

dj_colinbell, go for a package deal. We were going to do that this year and the hotel wanted more that Airtours did for the lot. The problem with Andorra is the transfer. Go for a deal BUT shop around. Airtours and Panorama are the same company but the prices differ loads.

Hi there
Next year is are 4th trip to Andorra ( Soldeu ) stayed at hotel Austria twice food good but just that bit out of town. We now stay at the
Sport Hotel ..... First Class. A locker is included with the price. No complaints at all !! Ski school is near and very good so is Fat Alberts

I arrange trips just to get the price down, anyone one can join as you do your own thing when you get there. However we may have the odd beer or two, but it is just a relaxing, go as you please trip.
I use the co-op travel in Northwich, Cheshire. our dates are 21st Jan and the 28th Jan 07 ..... some of us are going for two weeks.
For more info contact the co-op travel ask for Helen and say can I book on Bobs ski trip. They will arrange payments and departure
airport, we are flying from Manchester but some are flying from Gatwick, I know Glasgow is available. Tel 01606 351 747 Hope to see you there !!

If you go onto First Choice Website www.firstchoice.co.uk/ski you can book the Hotel Austria in Soldeu also. I've stayed there and had no complaints or problems. The hotel is a bit out of town, but there is a ski bus in the morning, so no problems.

dj_colinbell, Hi - we stayed in El Tarter February 2 years ago in Hotel Esqui - very nice! Little bit outside Soldeu, but the hotel runs a faultless minibus shuttle throughout the day (apart, I think, from lunchtime) which get you to the gondola in about 2 minutes. Hotel has indoor heated pool, gym etc and the food was very good. There is also a bar with a big comfy lounge, intenet access (payable), etc. There are a couple of OK bars close by, but I dare say you can get into town easily enough in the evening - we just never made it! We booked it as a package - I'm a great fan of DIY ski, but as said here earlier, the transfers are the thing - you would lose any financial benefit gained from booking directly, just in getting from the airport. The Grandvalira lift pass covers a huge area now and you can take a look at the website www.grandvalira.com - we boked via Ski Deals website, and it was around £400 half board inc flights from Manchester and transfers
The hotel also provides ski lockers in the basement, but there is a paying locker at the base of the lifts if you want to leave skis there. We really enjoyed this holiday and the snow was fab! Good Luck

dj_colinbell, I love Andorra, id say for nightlife Pas is great, and has the best ski area! But if yo're in a group Arinsal has plenty of good bars and stuff to keep you entertained! More so than Pas I reckon, but the skiing is more limited!
