@Clairey1975, do you mean the whole Alta Badia region e.g Corvara, Colfosco, San Cassiano etc, or specifically the small town of Badia itself? If the latter then the Usteria Posta hotel whose owner Igor posts such great videos on YouTube of skiing the Dolomites would be my choice of a place to stay in Badia town.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks. I think I mean the whole of
Alta Badia. People seem to rave about it, but I’m co fused where you actually stay and where I would search on Airbnb

Booked for a week with the family before Christmas and used http://www.immobiliaretable.it/index.php/en/welcome-to-corvara-in-alta-badia.html
Drop them an email with your requirements and they will come back with suitable properties.
I reckon that Corvara is very well positioned for Alta Badia or heading out around the Sella Ronda. I reckon that La Villa and San Cassiano could suffer from queues during half term.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We stay in Selva regularly (same ski area). I'm not sure if airbnb is really a thing in this area? My advice would be to pick a village within the Alta Badia area, decide which type of accommodation that you require and then mail the tourist information office in your chosen village. They will then reply with a list of options across the cost spectrum within your criteria. Obviously, getting there would then be your responsibility.

....and they're stuck out on a limb. Colfosco and Corvara are at least only one hump from Selva, which let's face it is the premium destination.

My two pence worth….
Corvara - we think it’s perfectly positioned on the cross roads of Sella Ronda and bluesy Alta Badia area, you can ski to within a few hundred metres of a lot of accommodation. Lifts off in every direction so if you’re flexible no need to worry about queues but as a crossroads the key lifts can get busy at peak times. A few small bars and restaurants, one small but good enough supermarket and one that’s ‘ok’. Generally quite Expensive.
La Villa - direct access to the blues of Alta Badia, bit smaller and more sprawling than Corvara so often need to use ski bus or walk a bit further. medium sized but good supermarket. IIRC Only a few bars and restaurants. One main lift out which can get busy at peak times but short bus journey or drive to Corvara, also a smaller lift in another direction towards Badia. Ski buses seem to run regularly, you see a lot around.
Badia out in a limb! But ok if you’re happy to drive or use buses to get to the main blue area
Colfosco - not stayed but small place, handy for SR but requires short hop to the main blue area which involves a busy gondola. Probably a ski bus available.
San Cassiano - not stayed, popular with some on this site but only one lift out and it gets busy in peak periods, but IIRC the queue seems to move ok, very handy for the main blue area.
I see there are a couple AirBnB apartments in LaVilla also try altabadia.org but you might have limited choice for this coming Winter. The area is very popular with Germans and Italians many of who return to the same place every year.

Went to SR (Selva) last year for the first time. It weas great despite being rather soft on a couple of days where the pistes hadn't even frozen overnight so mogulled up by 10am. That bluesy area off Corvara is great, as is the small Colfesco area. Was right by the buttons in Selva so didn't take long to get to Corvara and a long (4km?) blue blast to get there. Quite a strange lift arrangement at Corvara where the best route out to the bluesy area can be a slow chair then a tour down through the houses to the Col Alto gondola. Those LONG pomas are just strange and crying out for a "proper" lift
As for staying - yes Corvara would be a good base, but anywhere on the circuit would be good. Going back to same hotel in Selva this March (the Acadia)

@Clairey1975, We've booked Hotel Villa Eden for our trip to Corvara in January as we wanted half board but there are loads of small Pensions (small b&bs) which were reasonably priced when we were doing our investigations. Second using altabadia.org for search as they cover the whole spectrum from SC apartments to upscale hotels.

@Clairey1975
You could try this place, directly on the convergence of a blue and red run in San Cassiano, just 200 metres above the main gondola, truly ski in and ski out
