Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any grocery shops/bakeries in Le Bettaix? Looking at booking a self catered chalet and wondering if there's anywhere near by for last minute purchases like bread and milk?
Also are there any bars at all?
Obviously

Is this Le Bettaix just below Les Menuires? If so stayed there a few years ago and there were no bars or shops then.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Or Le Bettex near St Gervais?

It's Le Bettaix just below Les Menuires. Thank you!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There was a trip report on Le Bettex (which is now the correct spelling - they have officially changed it) earlier this year

Their own website states that there are two ski shops and nothing else down there. It's also not on the bus route.

So if you're driving out it's no issue as there's loads of free parking near the shops in Les Menuires but if you're on a transfer it could be awkward.

No shops sadly. There might be a morning bread van (I know there is one that comes to some of the other satellite villages).

I have booked a similar trip next March, to the one linked to above. There is a bread delivery in the village and our chef was getting hers from another delivery service.
Apres ski in Les Menuires and ski back is the best idea. Supermarket in Les Menuires is pretty good if you have a car (or a backpack
)
The village is not on any bus route including those for most transfers.
