I was wondering what you lot think about skiing in the Zillertal area, in Austria, as my friend has asked me whether i wanted to go with him for a week in February? It seems great for intermediates and i would definetely be interested in the super Zillertal ski pass.
THanks

oasis13, I have been several times to Zillertal - highly recommended
There are several threads on Mayrhofen and Zillertal if you do a search. Try this thread for starters.

wow, thanks a lot, looks like i cant miss this oppurtunity - I love skiing in Austria...
Finally, which resort in Zillertal would you reccomend to fairly timid second week skiers? I presume one of the smaller ones would be better as they should be empty...
And, what is Zillertal Arena like to ski in?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

the runs on the Rastkogel above Vorderlanersbach have some excellent beginners runs
you can have a look at the piste map on the site I posted up from the ski-infos menu then click on panorama

Try Kaltenbach. Its largely unknown except to locals and very friendly skiing.
I can second AWs comments about the Rastkogel above Vorderlanesbach, which is spot on.
If you stay in Mayrhofen or Zell am Ziller you can use the train up and down the valley to a variety of lifts and resorts. Higher than Mayrhofen its bus only, but there is a good bus service.
