Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Kids ski size

Poster: A snowHead
Was planning on getting my neices new skis for Xmas but there existing skis may be good. There both 1.48m tall but well under there average weight for there height 32 and 35kg. There existing skis faction 133cm (knock of a few cms for being twin twip) may be on the short side looking at them but for there weight is spot on. I was using the evolution ski size guide

https://www.evo.com/guides/how-to-choose-youth-skis-and-size-chart

They have been on these skis for last two years. Was looking at buying some flat top skis around 145cm and quiver killing there bindings (already got). How do I know when they have put grown them?

At that height, mine were similar weight and IIRC they were usually on c. 140-150cm for recreational skiing. In terms of level, they were 5-week/year snow skiers who also raced year round.

Pretty much all their skis at that age were either rail bindings or race plates, so they were easy to move adjust when changing boots, or swapping skis between kids. I wouldn't have ever bothered with QKs.

Unless they're racing, I find my kids & their friends are a lot less fussy about skis than many people on here. Similar for boots, they just get on with it.
