Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arc 1600 - Residence Versant Sud

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

This is my first new post here (I think) so please be gentle….. Very Happy

I’m on the cusp of booking an apartment in the Versant Sud residence in Arc 1600. Any expertise, anything I need to know? I’ve failed to find any detailed reviews thus far.

Things important to me are pretty much access, closeness to lift and / or slopes, ability to walk to the resort centre in the evening to meet friends in other buildings.

Anyone have any experiences or views to share?

Thanks in advance.

@BikeSausage, I've never stayed in Versant Sud myself but walked past them many times. We stay in the Cachette apartments and know Arc1600 very well.

I think you can ski down to the Tommelet drag lift fairly easily, but personaly I would walk the 200m to the Combettes lift to start the day. You can ski more or less back to the apartments in the evening using either the Gollet piste or cutting across from the Cachette piste.

It is a flat walk of a few hundred metres to the centre of Arc 1600.

The views from the apartments across the valley are stunning.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
