Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

EV to Alps.. Insight required Hotels with charging??

Hi All

Driving down to Les Arc for Feb half term.. I am well versed in European EV driving, but here is where I need some help

I want to cross the channel late on Friday as we will leave Yorkshire after school finishes, then almost immediately stop in Northern France at a hotel, ideally with 11-22kW AC charging so we can fill right up whilst we are asleep

Question is does anyone know of such a place, ideally within 80km of Calais

@djglover, I've just Googled 'hotel with ev charging near Calais' and a map with locations plus a list of hotels advising the charger types they have. You'll know how near is near enough/too close for you (we drive from the other side of the Pennines so also like a stop close to Calais, but haven't done it in our ev)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Seen this? Might contain what you need, plus various other tips.

Get the chargemap app - you can then filter by power rating and "accomodation" as a starter for 10

I stayed in the Hotel Maurice in Calais last year. They had 2 AC chargers which were at least 11Kw (the most our car can take AC). We reserved a slot when we booked the room. The charger did need a specific app (our Charge map card didn't work with it).

I tend to us booking.com to find hotels - you can filter by those with EV chargers

A lot of the Ibis/Novotel have EV charging especially if there is a huddle of them in the same area.

It's also a filter on Booking.com and other sites.

Big Carrefours seem to offer charging options (at the same site) ranging from 300kW to 7kW depending on what you can take and how long your shopping will take.

A bit too far from Calais for you, but maybe useful for others - Greet hotel, Beaune, cheap as chips and 8 x 225kW Chargers on site (Electra).

Chargemap is quite a good app with loads of filters to narrow down your search.
