Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hotel Ducs de Savoie (Val D)- advice needed

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A group of 15 of us have booked to stay in this hotel New Year week. There is a mix of couples without children , and families, one with 2 teenagers and two families with babies (1yr and 7 month old).

We have since found out the 2 babies won’t be allowed in the dining room on the evening. There is a listening patrol but this only covers those booked on the first floor (we are on the top 4th floor).

We really don’t want to have to sit at the children’s high tea with our baby (who won’t even be eating proper meals) to then spend the rest of the evening separated from our party. Our baby would be sleeping in a pram, so not running around disturbing diners. I can’t believe they have banned children from the dining room when there is no childcare provision?

Has anyone stayed there and had this experience? TIA

Thanks so much for the link- that’s actually what started me looking into this, appreciate your response. The first floor is now purely for Esprit guests and has a listening service allowing parents to dine without children. The other 3 floors are allocated to Inghams (and a few independent travel agents) guests and don’t have this service- Esprit confirmed this when I called them earlier. We’ve booked through an independent and just booked a nanny with Esprit.

@Apsr2, ah..convoluted set up.and not at all what you need. Would you consider paying for an evening nanny? I have a contact (a snowhead as it happens) who manages a nanny agency in val d'isere

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the offer but we’ve already got her in childcare for 8.5 hours so don’t really want childcare in the evenings as well- but thanks so much for the offer! You’re right about the set up- seems bizarre for those families who aren’t with Esprit!
