Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ACL - the long view = for all those fretting right now

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
There are may current posts on here regarding 'just screwed my ACL what should I do...' and the same concerns I went through 'what's the long term view?'

I did mine twice - almost complete and then another partial. No surgery, just massive rehab.
That was 35 years ago.
Now that leg is 20mm greater in circumference than the other at the thigh. And my hip symmetry is shot.
As with this video, I get mysterious swelling and boy does it swell like a football when skiing...huge work being done by the muscles around the joint...but it subsides....
And always working on technique, that's what helps the joint....

This is upbeat and I hope helpful to those fretting....

Good luck with this. I’ve done mine twice. Playing rugby at school the first time, then bouldering the second. It is a mind game afterwards. I haven’t yet mastered it. But you can definitely still ski. Just Rehab, Rehab, Rehab, Rehab, Rehab, Rehab

ACL snapped last April, no surgery, lots of rehab, and just come back from my 2nd week of skiing since the start of March. Absolutely no grief whilst skiing (wearing a Mueller HG80 brace), but a bit swollen and niggly by the end of both weeks. To be honest, I'm pretty happy with that outcome. The worst bit for me is bouldering, since that is how I did it - I get the heebie jeebies doing anything I might fall off from if my feet are higher than head height. That's definitely a mind game.

Good luck @under a new name,
