WE ARE THINKING OF GOING TO BOROVETS ON 26TH DEC FOR A WEEK
ONLY PROB IS THAT THERE DOESNT SEEM TO BE MUCH SNOW THERE AT THE MOMENT!
IS THIS NORMAL?
HAS ANYONE BEEN FOR THIS PERIOD IN THE PAST, WHAT HAS THE SNOW BEEN LIKE?

Ive been to borovets for the last few years mid-end of Jan and its pot luck if there is decent snow at that time! I think its usual that there isnt much snow there now but book as late as possible if you can!

rdelooze1984, there are loads of resorts which don't have snow yet, there's weeks to go before Christmas. But yes, book very late. There are more reliable places for snow.

last year at xmas borovets struggled with snow & bansko was heaving with skiers who were being shuttled over to bansko from borovets.... last couple of years panic sets in this time of year worrying about lack of snow but it comes good eventually(fingers crossed)

Well did you on your ski trip and did you have snow , we are looking at booking our 1st ski holiday for Xmas week and it will be disastrous if there’s no snow

Welcome to Snowheads, @Clare rose.  Whatever happened all that time ago is no guide at all to what will happen at Christmas. I strongly advise that you do a forum search on Bansko before making any decisions.

Old thread but... @Clare rose, I wouldn't bet on snow at xmas in Bulgaria. Of course you can get lucky with good conditions anywhere but it's better yo hedge your bets with one of the high apline resorts.

Errr for those who feel the need to comment or advise on places they've never been to, Bansko is a different resort to Borovets
