We are going next year on holiday at Easter with some friends with small kids - they are keen to do other activities in the afternoon - like swimming and soft play, sledging. The best I can think of which a relatively high and not too bad in terms of driving from the uk is Les Menuires. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Doesn’t Val Thorens have a brand new sports centre? Also the extra height means less slush on the resort runs.

Easter is early next year so you have a bit more choice than usual.

Tignes Le Lac, The Easter skiing should be as excellent and there is a pool in the centre of the resort with a slide that is free with the ski pass. No sure about the range of other activities though.
Saas Fee, very high and snow-sure for the skiing. There is a bit of a lack of blue runs for early intermediates but the beginner area near the village is reasonably good. If you stay at the youth hostel there is a great pool included on site. Again this pool has a couple of slides and a children's area. Saas Fee is a good sized car free village with quite a few other things to do. I think there is a non Skiing part of the mountain with a gondola so there should be some activities around that. We are staying there this year at Easter.

Definitely a good candidate, great stuff usually going on in village for kids there, plus no real travelling to get anything you need access to as all grouped around snow front village centre.
For consideration, Alpe d Huez has very good village facilities will excellent pool too.
Also Ste Foy Tarantaise as very easey to use family village, many places with pool facilities available, very good snow inclusive non skiing play areas in village centre too.

La Plagne 2050, so Belle Plagne maybe? Definitely swimming and bowling available.
La Rosiere is very family friendly. Tobogganing etc.. can be done there.

when my son was barely bigger than a baby he was able to ski all over in Val Thorens, there are a good range of not too hard runs for kids so it is not a bad plan at all.

for a curve ball, stay low, ski high, and pick a mostly north facing resort ie latania. Went there many times with our kids, sledging still possible most Easters near the gondola. The boys in other household were out damming local streams when the afternoons were warm at some Easters. There is also www.aquamotion-courchevel.com if you had a car, or playgrounds down the valley that they went to.

Loads of other activities - check the Tignes website & that of Evolution2.

The timing of your week is key - with Easter earlier, if it's the last week of March then I would recommend Avoriaz. It's all set up for kids and families. It's all horse and carts, so is quite magical that way. Plus lots of sledging, ice rinks, carousels. Plus Aquariaz is supposed to be pretty epic.
If it's later in April, then would go the Val Thorens. Lots of sledging, new pool and sports centre - and it will be very snow sure for snow ball fights!!

Grächen - high, snow sure, aimed solely at families. No brits, just Swiss and Dutch.
It was the best family resort with a 3&6yr old.
