Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cervinia piste conditions/private lessons in April

 Poster: A snowHead

Hello,

Looking for some advice re. best time of day for my two intermediate sons (13 & 11) to have private ski lessons in Cervinia 11-14 April. First day of skiing is Tuesday so group lessons not ideal. They would like afternoon lessons 2-5pm but will the snow be too slushy at that time, making morning lessons better? Ski school (Scuola di Sci Breuil) can only offer 9-11 in the mornings - too early for us! I think Ride 'Em ski school has more availability but would rather book with Scuola di Sci Breuil.

Thanks in advance.

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

When we went in April it was only the last few hundred metres that got slushy , As its such a high resort and ski area everywhere else was fine .
I'm guessing the instructor would take them above the slush line ?? Its your lesson so you tell them what you want

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you for the tip. Edy did not come up when I searched for private tuition so good to have a recommendation. Interesting to see he also works in Champoluc as I am now wondering whether I should go there instead of Cervinia! There is an all-day kids' ski school run by Ski Champoluc and better choice of accomm. Seems better value for money. Not quite as high as Cervinia, though (plus my niece, who may come, has only skiied for one week). Think i will probably stick with Cervinia this time and maybe look at Champoluc next year.
