Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Val Thorens 22/23 New Year

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm new to snowboarding and I am hoping to get a lot of practise in this year in Scotland and local ski centre. I am the only person I know that is doing snowsports but I'm planning to go to Val Thorens for 22/23 New year. I'm hoping to find a group of other people like me to go with however I've had no luck so far. Is anybody planning to go around that time and in the same situation as me?

@Benstor, welcome to snowheads.

You'll do well to get someone for 22/23 new year as it's already passed Laughing

I'm guessing you mean 23/24.

New Year is a peak week. Is there any reason you chose that week?

You may want to consider the bashes that the Snowheads chief organises https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewforum.php?f=31

Or UCPA - French organisation for young people predominantly - would be right up your street I would have thought https://www.ucpa.co.uk/

Haha yeah my bad I meant 23/24

Always wanted to spend new year's away and think it would be great to go on a snowboard and Apres trip at Val Thorens.

Taken a look at UCPA and looks great and seems to be ideal for people in my position.

Do you know when the best time to book will be if I aim to go around new year?

Okay cheers. Have noticed it is usually around august time bookings open so plenty of time to make a plan. Hopefully I can get decent enough at snowboarding in 11 months.

you'd be better off going uni week, loads of young uns like you up to all kinds of debauchery. New year is literally the worst week to go. most expensive and busiest. I'm longing for when I don't have to go then

Thanks for letting me know I will consider that.

Are there many English people who go via UCPA or is it mainly French speakers?

Loads of english people go, and swedes, danes, norweigens, germans... It's very mixed!

Enough english people go that there is a dedicated UK partner agency Smile https://www.action-outdoors.co.uk/

That’s great, I know what I’ll be doing then. Thanks for the help, looking forward to getting to grips with it in time for next season.
