Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Odd shaped head - need a helmet

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I'm in need of a helmet for my son. He's 16 years old and a fit, competent skiier. He has an odd shaped bonce. It's not only large, but the rear left/right top 'corners' are more pronounced than for the rest of us. Think the 'Mekon' and you won't be far wrong (OK, so not THAT big, but you get the idea).

He's tried lots of large helmets on, all the usual suspects, but in all cases they end up 'pressing' on the top/back of his head on the left and right sides. He's tried XL sizes, and ultimately the same thing happens, or they wobble around, even with MIPS/Boa systems. This is painful and gets in the way of concentration and happiness.

I've looked at the Salomon Custom Air models, but the air compression is only over the soft rear part of the head - great idea if you could pump up a couple of other areas to get a perfect fit, but alas no.

Does anyone know of any customisable helmet out there?

(Oh, and I have already searched this site for a similar question but didn't find any answers apart from Salomon Air.)

He could try just wearing a beanie under the helmet for a bit of padding/filler.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

And Kask make some big sizes https://www.kask.com/en/snow/khimera-shine_25_86.htm - Italian company I think (my mate in Norway has a head the size of a bowling ball) and he uses them
