When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I have very sensitive area above my ankle on inside of tibula and outside of fibula due to a compound fracture. Does anyone know of a padding that would take the discomfort away.

@Brendan2167, there are a number of things that can help with this depending on the size of the area you need to protect you can get gel pads designed for the shin or the ankle, a good boot fitter can remove a bit of material or the surface tension from the liner in that area which can cause a lot of pressure on bone callous, making sure the foot is properly stabilized with a good footbed will reduce any sheer forces in there too

@Brendan2167 I can recommend a good boot fitter.... @CEM!
He probably won't remember but he spent the best part of 6hrs custom fitting my boots for numerous reasons including screws in my ankles so a very weird shape, taking cork out of the base of the custom footbed so there was a 'floating' area...just unbelievable.....they are the best boots I've had, and I had always struggled before!
