Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Heat mould Intuition liners?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Should I heat mould my intuition liners (at home), or just ”ski them in”?

Any thoughts or experience?

@Psortti, if they are supposed to be heat moulded (mine are) then they will work better if they are ... (obvs)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

A few years back I purchased a pair of Scarpa T2 ECO telemark boots which have an Intuition liner.
I purchased them mail order from Telemark Pyrenees.
I called a local telemark specialist shop about having them heat molded and they said to ski in them for a while and only have them heat molded if needed.
After a few days, the liners fit fine. They do adjust a bit just by wearing them.
The local shop said about half of their Intuition liner customers end up not needing heat molding.

Have a look at their website & they detail the "home moulding" technique using a sock full of microwaved rice : works a treat Toofy Grin

I now use a temperature adjustable hot air gun, which also works a treat Toofy Grin

@Psortti, heat mold! Plenty of video on YouTube. I didn't use rice, just heat the boots in the oven and put them on ... I bodged a toe box out of an old sock and gaffer tape.

I can confirm the sock full of rice approach works really well. I also now have smaller rice packages that I can use to heat specific parts of the boot if I just want to make a small tweak!

Toe caps made from cardboard and duct tape!

Chopped-up old insoles on the lumps and bumps on my feet to make sure there's plenty space for my bunion and bone spurs!
