Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How was Cervinia at Feb half term?

Hello,

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Champoluc with quiet piste and minimal lift queues.

I was looking at Cervinia for next year, and wondered how this compared in terms of crowds at Feb half term?

It would be great to hear people's experiences this year.

Many thanks

Skied over from Zermatt three times last week and queues were minimal to non-existent for the lifts and the pistes weren't overcrowded at all. On piste restaurants were busy but not really a problem as we went self-service, but worth reserving tables elsewhere probably

Bear in mind that carnivale (pancake day) was this week (in 2023) but next year potentially does coincide with UK feb half term (Feb 13 2024) ...that may add a few more Italians on the slopes.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks @sheffskibod. Looking at dates, our HT is the following week (19th), so maybe busy on the first weekend when we arrive but will hopefully then be quieter again

Maybe not been very recently, but we did 2 x 1/2 term trips to Cervinia. Main reason we did a 2nd trip was due to the lack of the usual Qs you see in France. Locals were all v welcoming to their restaurants etc too. Excellent skiing conditions. In fact the Italian side was better as less traffic on the slopes. Noticeably busier the days we went over to Zermatt, but nothing compared to some of the French resorts. Had an apartment we could ski back to just off the bottom of the Ventina - always a great last run of the day Very Happy

Used one of the Cervinia property agencies - they're all called Immobilare something. Really enjoyed Cervinia & would go back, but get that we were probably lucky re the wind as it didn't affect us at all. Also worth noting we had to use the snow chains to get to the resort both times & me & the kids had to push the car up the last uncleared bit of road to the apartment Laughing
