Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Family ski pass for a group of teenagers over/under 18?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi I'm skiing this winter with my family, and a friend's family in the 3 valleys. 4 parents, 9(!?!!) children. 3 of those children are still teenagers, but over 18.

Of course we can buy 2 family passes
    (family)2 Parents + 2 children
    (family)2 parents + 4 children
(tribu)3 tribu passes for the teenagers
but I wonder if we're allowed to do 3 family passes
    (family)2 Parents + 2 children
    (family)2 parents + 2 children
    (family)2 18 year olds + 2 children
1 adult pass (for the 19 year old)
Does anyone know whether the adults have to be the parents?

@razza, no, they do not need to be parents.

the last time i went with a group of families to the 3v's, we did similar to your 2nd option (with me and one other dad being the over 18's, and several under 18's on the family pass).
all they care about is ages being correct, though to be honest i am not even sure how they would know about the 19-year-old, if you wanted to add them on the family pass as a child.
from memory, you do not have to show any proof of age, especially if you order the passes online.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@terrygasson, not 3V, but I’ve just ordered my ski passes for Les Gets for me and the lad. For the first time ever, I’ve had to upload a copy of his passport to prove he’s under 16

@Timmycb5, i just tried a test purchase on the LM website for our 3v trip at easter and went all the way through to final stage (payment) without having to upload proof of age for anyone.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks everyone, I'll try the 3 family passes. Worst case they'll just say no Smile
