Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mid-week Early Season Central Switzerland

Poster: A snowHead
Morning all

I have a load of annual Leave to use up and we have a couple of kid free Tuesdays and Thursdays between now and Christmas so I am wondering if anyone can recommend any resorts open midweek and early - up to 1.5hrs from Zug by car.

Engelberg is on the list.

Andermatt is an obvious list addition "if" they have opened. Also assuming you can drive it in the 1.5hrs?

Andermatt is the only big place within 90 minutes of Zug on this list that I was using when I was trying to work out where to go Mon 12th - Fri 16th December.

Interlaken is about 90 minutes away, isn't it? Some of the Jungfrau area should be open, but not all of it.

That's why I've ended up going for Zermatt after all, although I am training it from Geneva and am happy to spend longer traveling at the start and end of my trip.

No need to stay in CHwitzerland.
2 hrs drive brings you to Stuben am Arlberg
Some of the best skiing in the Alps, and at Euro, not CHF
Many Swiss like that Eh oh!

In Switzerland Laax should be open already. If you’re open to AT, as well as the Arlberg as above, Montafon should be open weekends currently and daily from start of December

You might like to include some of the smaller ski stations, often good for a day or two. I would certainly include Sörenberg and Flumserberg, for instance, both should be within your radius. If they're open, of course.

Engelberg and Andermatt as previously mentioned, of course. There are a lot of even smaller ones around, most of which, alas, we never got round to visiting when we lived up that way.

@Chaletbeauroc, they are on my list but not too many opening mid-week before 17/12 so far - I will keep my eyes peeled
