Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ischgl ski rental with touring bindings?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
In between booking our ski holiday with Inghams for 24 January and Inghams issuing our Jet2 reservation number the teturn flight has ran out of spaces for ski carriage. My boots only take touring bindings. Can anyone suggest or recommend a ski rental shop that can supply skis with touring bindings? I’m not planning on doing any touring during this holiday. Thanks

I think you'll either need to get emailing/phoning some of the hire shops, or just risk it accepting you might be in hire boots for a week.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There are tons of ski hire shops in Ischgl, so I'm sure someone will have something suitable. There is a list here with contact details: https://www.ischgl.com/en/Active/Active-Winter/Ski-Services/Ski-Rentals-and-Depots but they are operated by just a few companies, so I'd get in touch with the main depot for each and ask which shop to go to. Personally, I'd start with Bründl.

Thanks all. Fortunately I’ve found that Anything Technical stock some obsolete alpine soles that should fit my boots

@On the rocks, do you need touring/pin bindings or just bindings that work with GripWalk (etc) soles? Even many piste-orientated bindings are now GripWalk(etc)-compatible.

@clarky999, yes thanks, just normal downhill bindings but i wouldn’t want to take that risk with hire shops. Fortunately as above i should be able to change the boot soles to standard alpine

Well done Anything Technical for prompt delivery of alpine soles for my boots which have been obsolete since 2015.

Looking at the Tyrol snow conditions it may be a blessing in disguise having to rent some slim stiff piste skis instead of taking my widish softish R98s. Looking forward to a week of piste charging Very Happy
