Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Places to stay in Tournus?

Dear all,

Planning the drive home from Val D in Feb next year. Kids have an inset day on the Monday; usually we’d push on to Troyes or Reims on the Saturday but have more time to play with and as such would prefer to take things a little easier on the return leg.

I’m looking at stopping in Tournus on the Saturday. Never been. Would be most grateful for any recommendations for a family of 4. Kids will be 10 and 8 (if that helps!).

Many thanks for your help.

Easy. We've stopped in Tournus 2 times this year for skiing and summer hols after loads of research (also a family of 4!).

Very easy accommodation literally just off the motorway.

We've stopped at La Mirandole in a family room (double bed and 2 singles) - about 80 Euros. It's family run, clean, offers breakfast. Bit like an American motel (you park up outside your room). And McDonalds is literally across the road (2 cheap petrol stations next door too).

The Hotel Village Motel is across the road so close to everything. Bit more expensive so not stopped there but looks nice. Think it might be a bit more modern (and definitely has a restaurant) but we like the cosiness of La Mirandole. Have a look on TripAdvisor!

Just to say, in summer we walked into town and it was gorgeous. But may not have the same appeal in winter!

No worries. Took ages to find somewhere in between Dijon and Macon. Tournus came up trumps.
