Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Luggage storage in Serre Chevalier

Poster: A snowHead
We are looking at taking the night train from Paris to Briancon next Feb/March, and staying in a private apartment in one of the large Residences in La Salle. I'm a bit worried about what we'll do with our luggage whilst we ski on the first and last day though. Does anyone know if the Residence would be likely to have a luggage room we can use before check-in in the same way a hotel normally does, or if there is anywhere else in the valley that might be helpful? TIA

@iblair, have you asked the apartment owner, and which residence are you staying in? There's ski lockers at the lift stations and there are even showers and lockers at the bottom of Monetier lifts, but not sure about left luggage facilities. Maybe you could contact the Tourist Office.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Hells Bells, Thank you. Waiting for some apartment owners to reply - I haven't narrowed it down to one place yet.

We have this problem all the time on trips (usually the lads trip) where we try to maximise skiing. Most recently in Meribel we managed to agree with the apartment owner that we could have access to the apartment until 2pm, which at least allowed us to get a morning in. One time in Megeve we convinced the ski hire shop to let us leave our bags there. The guy got 8 ski hires for the long weekend (non-peak) and we got 3 full days of skiing. Get creative!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I agree with @FrediKanoute, . I have dropped bags with ski hire shops for a day before. Might not work peak season though.

Worst case scenario I guess you could get the bus to the railway station first thing, put the bags in the left luggage there, then get bus to Briancon lifts and start skiing from there on your final day.

Thanks everyone! I did wonder about the station, but it says there it no luggage storage. I'll wait for the apartment owners to reply, and then try the ski hire.
