Ok, so not that common but.....I can't be the only one. About to go for my first physio terrorist appointment 2 weeks after surgery. Doc reckons the end of 22/23 season is probably too soon for a 'return' so planning for 23/24............ assuming all other thiings are equal.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I intend obeying their instructions. This needs to be behind me. Anno domini is not on my side. Major goals are, in order, drive, walk, walk with dog, street bike, mountain bike, ski. All preferably before I run out of time.
Not common, 1.37 per 100k per year in UK. My maths tell me that is about 958 persons. Surely 10% must be skiers...

@Maersk, was it after taking quinolone antibiotics or from a mechanical injury e.g. fall? They're rather common when hitting a sticky patch of snow and the skiier is thrown forwards. The bindings may not release properly and the weight goes through the Achilles and other thigh/calf tendons.

Mechanical; 25 foot high, steep (60 degree) flight of concrete steps off a disused railway embankment. You would almost believe a man could fly............. when at a low ebb I just think.........it could have been a lot worse...........

I think most will be covered in the thread posted above by @holidayloverxx, but
Get range of movement as fast as you are allowed to.
Then build strength - its slow and frustrating
Consider using Compex muscle stimulation and or blood flow restricted if you really can’t make progress with building muscle.
6-8 months back to sport
