Hi all,
I got a group of 6 all going to la clusaz in the middle of January. This will be the first time going there after many trips to flaine and other resorts.
All members of the group are happy cruising blues and reds but want to make the most of the 3 days skiing by hiring a guide to show us the best loops and runs and how to get about the best ways.
Does anyone know any instructors/ guides in the area as all I have found is back country and off piste guides

Generally you can take an instructor from a local ski school - just tell them what you want. Try ESF La Clusaz. You don't need a mountain guide.

@Ghostlybadge, it's not a particularly big area, I can't really think you'd have much need for a guide to show you round.

If the budget's not tight, half a day with a friendly local is likely to be very pleasant. Even as a non-instructor, when I had visitors with specific requirements, likes and dislikes, visiting the area I knw well I could usually show them a good time - and a good value lunch - and sensible suggestions for further exploration. It's a big enough area to not know where to go on your first morning. We always found the "ski guiding" a useful part of a catered chalet holiday, back in the day.

On a week's holiday I would just make my way around but this is a arrive Friday evening leave Tuesday morning so only 3 days on the snow so want to make the most of the days I don't want to head to an area to find all the blues are flat blues and could have been greens or skip a full section of the mountain that does not good good on the liste map but is there best place in the world.
And where sells the best food. Even for a morning in the first day to give us a head start

@Ghostlybadge, I did 3 winters as a "guide" it's not a terrible idea. But as @pam w, suggests, these days you need to cough up for a licensed pro.

I'm not sure whether you're asking about eating places on the mountain or in town? In town we found a restaurant called Pizza Minute (which does much more than just Pizza) which did very nice food at inexpensive prices, we ate there several times in the evening. It only has a relatively small number of dining in tables as a lot of their trade is for takeaways. It's located just behind the Church in the centre of town at 89 Place de l'Eglise.

Thanks. Had no issue with a pro just looking at the websites they advertise off piste and back country guides or group/private ski lessons.
If I end up with a private lesson instructor and get a tip on my skiing to go with the guide around the mountains I will be happy enough.
