Does anyone have any idea roughly how much it would cost to ship a pair of skis from the US to the UK? The skis I have my eye on only come from utah but I'm hesitant to buy as I've no idea how much it would cost. Thanks.

Dont forget the possibility of VAT & Duty being imposed.

@Jakey, I've just had a pair shipped from the US to Sweden for $100. Import fees etc won't be the same, I guess, but you shouldn't have to pay more than that (and possibly less).

@Jakey, are you buying from the manufacturer or a shop? Most US manufacturers have clear shipping costs but leave the duty etc to the customer on delivery. For example Praxis and Moment are $100 shipping to Europe/UK.
Some (e.g. WNDR) shipping costs include all duties and are very reasonable. Some, like 4FRNT are very expensive to import; $250 shipping and $250 duties!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'm buying from the manufacturer, vishnu freeski specifically, you can only buy their skis from them directly.

And might you have to pay VAT? Tax could be quite a bit, all told - I'd look for some authoritative guidance from HMRC.

I would use someone like https://ship7.com/ for this. Price can be as low as £63 but you may have vat and duty issues. You would need to get the manufacturer to ship them to the Ship7 warehouse and then once there you arrange the delivery on their website. Used their services a number of times and it is always great.

Theoretically, you have import duty and VAT to pay. I don't know UK charges are - here, you might be lucky but more often than not, import duty is added then vat equivalent of 25% on the whole cost (including shipping).

VAT and duty rates do vary a bit, but usually this: ((Item Value + P&P + insurance) + 2.5% duty) + 20% VAT.
Duty is included on P&P costs and insurance, VAT is paid on the lot.

What a spectacularly unhelpful website, with almost no useful information.

I'm buying a pair of keys in the presale, which starts May 1st. I can't find out anything on shipping from them, which is why I'm asking here.

I asked some shops while out in SLC and they did not ship to UK it was too much trouble for them. You might try a parcel forwarder like myus as they include all the fees before they ship. I've bought shoes and trainers from the us and it cost me an extra 30 bucks which was pretty good.
