I’m staying in châtel for the week with work and then meeting friends in Avoriaz for the week to go skiing.
Is there anyway to easily get to Avoriaz on Saturday morning with all my gear and luggage in particular?
The bus seems a bit of a nightmare of multiple changes.

Bus to Bonnevaux. Taxi to St.Jean D'Aulps. Bus to Prodains. Sounds like an adventure

Rubin Taxi in Châtel will get you to Prodains for around €100 and probably the easiest / quickest. Alternatively pack your stuff in a large rucksack and ski across via Linderets.

@Kismet80, actually, yeah, big backpack or some hefty bin bags and ski it.

You could get the bus down to Thonon then back up to Morzine then ski bus to Prodains then up the Prodains Express. Fairly cheap but much faffing and most of the day lost.
Big rucksack and ski over would be my choice. Two lifts from Pre La Joux, blue run down to Lindarets, one lift up, ski down to Avoriaz. Probably take about an hour including navette Chatel-PLJ. Only issue would be if you had hire skis.

If you ski with lots of luggage just don’t take the blue down to Lindarets at lunchtime… beginner carnage and out of control kids bombing after their parents

Thanks for all the advice. I just have one big duffle bag and I have my own skis and boots so no issues there.
Would the lift people be okay with me doing that? Because I’ve been trying to get a transfer and it’s turning out to be harder than I anticipated.

Should be fine. I took a big suitcase in an egg bubble once, bit of a squeeze but the lift people were very helpful.

To break the journey down into details and to do it the easiest way on skis with a bag would be.
1) free navette/bus from Chatel to ‘pre la joux’.
2) chair lift called ‘Pierre Longe’ from pre la Joux that delivers you to a plateau area called ‘plane Dranse’
3) from Plaine Dranse use ‘rochessons’ chair to take you up to the boundary/crossing of the Chatel/Avoriaz ski areas.
4) ski down a blue piste called ‘Grand Plan’ Into ‘Les Linderets’ Area of Avoriaz ski sector.
5) take ‘Linderets’ chair up to the Avoriaz Plataeu.
6)vey short ski from the top of the Linderets chair into Avoriaz village.
