Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

France Mask Still Reuired?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just saw an article stating that from yesterday masks are no longer required in France, in indoor places where vaccine passes are needed, retaurants, bars etc, but are still required where vaccine passes aren't needed, shops, public transport etc. So surely then since the vaccine pass is needed for ski lifts, this means the current rules regarding masks on enclosed ski lifts are being lifted? Though I've seen nothing referring specifically to the case of ski lifts. Anyone else heard anything?

They weren't being policed at all last week in Les Arcs, but there were a few random vaccine pass checks on some lifts. In fairness when we were there at Christmas they were happy with people just wearing buffs/snoods.

@zaphod424, no-one was enforcing on Brevent-Flegere enclosed lifts yesterday. The grey area is whether they are classed as public transport or not.

And certainly not on chairlifts.

Signs on the enclosed lifts in Grand Massif saying masks are required, but no-one was enforcing it. Compliance was variable.

We weren't asked for vaccine passes on the lifts at all, though we were in restaurants.

Wording on the La Plagne website, as an example:

Where and when to wear the mask?
Wearing a mask – Any approved mask: surgical, category 1 fabric, approved neck strap (on the ski area) – is compulsory for anyone from 6 years old in the following cases:
— In closed public places not subject to the "sanitary pass"
— In public transport (buses, trains, planes...)

The mask is no longer mandatory on ski lifts and chairlifts.
It remains recommended to wear the mask in large gatherings or queues, including at the start of the ski lifts.
