Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We've just booked a trip to Chatel with our 4 yr old and 1 yr old. Older one has never skied. We are staying on Rte de la Bechigne so expecting to bus to the lifts. Unfortunately creche is full for 1 year old so they will stay with one of us. Looking for where might be the best ski jardin for the 4 yr old to have some first timer lessons and be with other English speaking kiddies - Marmottons? Pre le Jeux? Is there one at La linga? looks like there is a symbol for it on the piste map.
Whole new set of things to consider going with the small ones...!

Hi
@lauraj126
,
Welcome to SH.
Theres a tunnel / carpet affair at PLJ, and an area for kids.
There's also a sledging area and family bit on the other side of the car park from the tunnel.
Linga is a little bit pants for kids IMHO.
There's also a nice beginner area up at Super Chatel, plus picnic room (to stay warm) and a few restaurants.
Depending how far down Rte de Bechinge you are the Super Chatel gondola might be walkable, but otherwise you'll want to use the bus. Its quite a steep road so maybe bus up in the morning, and walk down at the end of the day.
Most of the ESF Piou Piou have an indoor facility if it's cold, and I remember our kids spending the last 30 mins of the day inside the VdE at Avoriaz getting warm again and watching cartoons on a few occasions.
Personally I would suggest Super Chatel over PLJ.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@lauraj126
, our kids went into Marmottons when that sort of age. Not many English speakers but it was 20+ years ago! Not convenient if you want to be able to ski and get back to them quickly. As
@WindOfChange
says SC has a good area with a decent range of beginner slopes from virtually flat to gentle.

Thanks both! Do you know which ski schools would do lessons for 4yo at SC?
I can only find Chatel sensations and ESI who both operate out of PLJ, or ESF at Marmottons.
