Poster: A snowHead
|
I have been lucky enough to book a family holiday in BellePlagne for the last week of March next year. My wife and I are experienced skiers but my son in law (age 50) and our grandson (age 6) are both total beginners.
Can anyone recommend a ski school in BellePlagne or is there just the ESF? Does anyone know which ski school Crystal use?
Any advice would be gratefully received!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Check out Oxygene and Lime Snowsports. I haven’t used either, but have heard good reports.
You should get recommendations from members with personal experience.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the reply@Old Fartbag, I’ve looked at the Oxygene site, looks good.
Don’t know wether to book all day lessons for the 6 year old, complete with ‘Lunch Club’ or just mornings, any ideas?

@Sonic the Skier, It is worth a Google Search - “Ski School Belle Plagne Snowheads”.
I think it may involve them sending a minibus to pick you up....worth asking them before you commit.
As for how long - That’s hard to call, as it depends on your six year old. If they are a sociable, “Eveready Bunny”, used to being active all day and ok being away from you...Then they should be fine; Otherwise they will be tired and have had enough by lunchtime.
The one thing you don’t want to do, is make them miserable, as that will make you miserable and put them off skiing. Warm, comfortable and happy is the way to go - and that is a bit “Suck it and See”. Maybe ask the ski school for advice, as they will have seen it all.

We used Oxygene in Belle Plagne and they were fantastic with our daughter and friends son, both came on leaps and bounds with their English speaking instructors. At the child’s age of 6 they only went for the mornings as they found lessons quite tiring as they tend to be in small groups so cover a lot of ground….am sure the 50 year old would manage all day though..lol
