Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
My son went out to Norway last week with work, he will be there for 10 weeks and there is a small ski resort only 20 minutes away
He will obviously need some sort of insurance to cover any on slope mishap (fingers crossed not needed) but all the extended stay policies i can find are classed as holiday insurance and he isn't technically there on holiday. He is working and will be having evening/weekends off to go to the slopes.
Not bothered about all the normal holiday stuff they include that he doesn't need such as delayed flights, baggage loss, covid cover etc as work are covering that. It's just the winter sports bit that he needs. Had he been in France the Carre Neige would have covered him in guessing but there doesn't look to be an equivalent in Norway
Any suggestions of companies to try or do you think a holiday policy will be ok. Bearing in mind how sneaky insurance companies are and will use any little technicality to get out of paying
Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Might be stuffed if he has already travelled - usually a condition of policies. Revolut premium account maybe?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@pbsmith, Why not email the Norwegian Ski Federation and ask if there is an equivalent of Carte Neige or what else the locals do?

Or for mountain rescue cover, which is basically what Carte Niege is, join the Austrian Alpine Club UK.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Just had a look at their website and it looks perfect, it’s exactly what he is looking for. All his medical expenses should be picked up by the Royal Navy. it’s just the getting off the hill and into the hospital in the event of an accident bit that he needs , thanks for the advice

Yep that is what the AAC insurance covers (and by getting you off the hill they mean anywhere but a handful of the highest mountains on the planet)
