Does anyone know of a ski shop in the Tirol (I'm currently in Kirchberg, then going to Alpbach tomorrow, and have a car) that either stocks Scarpa boots, or has a huge box of random spares.
I've broken a buckle (the one over the foot) on a Scarpa TX Pro NTN telemark boot.
The bit circled (sic) in red below is languishing in the snow somewhere between the top of Kitzbuhel and Kirchberg. AFAIK Scarpa use similar buckles on some of their touring boots

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@SaraJ Great, thanks for the speedy recommendation. I'll be round there tomorrow. And if they can't fix the boot, it look like I've already got the right place to rent/buy some alpine touring kit

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@SaraJ and Chris_n, thanks very much for the recommendation. All sorted now with an appropriately different coloured buckle. Only slight hiccup was that I didn't check opening times on Sunday, but that had the happy outcome that I decided to ski at Reith, and had powder bounces all day, and saw no reason to go elsewhere

@viv, how did you find Reith? I really like the ski area, small but interesting! Don't suppose that gnarly-looking t-bar was open?

Today was great. We just lapped the gondola all day (and had one trip up the button lift at the top). The T-bar that runs parallel to the gondola wasn't running. The piste under the gondola (72) was unpisted (but open) with about 25cm fresh powder. Before 11 we'd lapped it 5 times, so had one other skier, and 2 snowboarders had been down it twice. After that we kept making fresh tracks piste-right of piste 71 down to where it crosses the road. Lower down the off-piste was getting heavier. In about 15 trips up the gondola, I shared it someone we didn't know once

Excellent; I've enjoyed an almost deserted Reith area myself, lapping the gondola and the Hochlift. I fear the T-bar may never run again as it doesn't appear on the Ski Juwel lifts list (still on the map, though).
