Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi Everyone, I'm currently looking at places for my Easter trip.
I'm using - Crystal, Inghams, SKi Miquel, SkiZoom and Sunweb
Are there any other TOs that are worth using? Not interested in high end so I don't need those
Cheers

I used Skiline a few years ago before Covid. They are an agent so have lots of options. Found them to be very helpful and got a cracking deal.

We've travelled with Neilson a few times, especially as they had discounts for RYA members. And Skibeat were good for us too, if you're looking for a chalet trip.

It was a Skibeat holiday I went on through Skiline mentioned above. No issues with them at all.

A thought from someone who worked overseas for a tour op:
If you book through a travel agent always take a copy of the tour operator's invoice with you.
As an example of why you should, let me say that in the past some agents out there would sell a component, which could be equipment, private transfer, lift ticket, tuition, on the back of their own deal with a local supplier. It could happen that the client didn't realise this and kicked off at the rep who (reasonably) was in a very difficult position because he knew that the item was not booked in his system. In the meantime the guest was waving travel agent paper (in front of other guests!) and getting (rightly in his mind) very hacked off. Several times we had to phone an agent to clarify and then instruct the agent to phone the client. Not a good start to a holiday! It will also show you, before you travel, just what has been booked for you with the TO.
Saying this, there are very good agents out there - generally speaking, at a reservations level, the large ones do not have the detailed resort knowledge that the smaller ones do.

@Gaz_H,
Back in March 2020 LittleRos started a thread called "Refunds and cancellations - who have been the good guys?" which could either help you or confuse you!
Wherever you go and with whom, have a good holiday
