A friend is adamant that slope-side bars/restaurants across Austria are all closed due to Covid. Is that really the case? It would have a serious impact on whether we chose to go or not! Thanks all

@Restless native, cash, so at least make sure you have some on you. Most will take cards, but there are some that don’t.

@Restless native, We used cash and cards so no problem there. One of our group used his card all week in the mountain huts.

Have used my cc in St Anton almost exclusively over the last 3 weeks. Mountain restaurants, large & small, and local shopping. Only the Tabak did not want to accept it, but then I was buying a €2 birthday card, so fair enough.
Can confirm all the local apres spots, like Mooser, SennHütte, etc are open, but they look quieter than was the norm pre-covid. I am not an apres person - I prefer to drink after my ski boots are off - so I cannot comment on the atmosphere.
