Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Step one: Skin, snowshoe, or hike the cord up to the top of the run.
Step two: Tie it off to either the included snow picket anchor or a natural anchor like a rock.
Step three: Ride, paying out your line on the way down.
Step four: Rig the PL1 at the bottom, hit the “go” button, and glide back up.

I saw the same in my daily email from them. A solution to a problem that doesn't really exist?
My first thought was that the rope wasn't that long, then I realised the battery would die before it used that much rope. If you are by yourself, it seemed kind of pointless, it would start making sense if out with someone who skins much slower, so you could lay the rope (and probably carry the system), then give it to the other person to haul themselves up. But whatever happens, make sure you don't forget to pull up the rope on your last run (which will take some time for a couple of thousand feet), otherwise you will have to skin back up again to get the rope (since the battery is probably flat).
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sem to remember a discussion on these the other year, either here or on TGR.
The concensus wasnt good, and at the time I think they were looking for funding - seems someone stumped up for them
