Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best heavyweight base layer pants?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi snowheads Very Happy
I regularly ski in -20C to -35C weather, and find my legs are getting a bit cold. Does anyone have any heavyweight baselayer pants recommendations for me? Google is just showing me other merino midweights.

I'm currently wearing:
Base: Helly Hansen women's LIFA merino midweight baselayer pants, https://www.hellyhansen.com/en_ca/w-lifa-merino-midweight-pant-49380?color=290002
Outer: Sunice women's Rachel waterproof insulated stretch snowpants (rated for -30C, so I don't think they're the problem), https://suniceapparel.ca/collections/womens-performance-ski-apparel/products/wfv1859-womens-rachel-waterproof-insulated-stretch-pant-1

Thanks!!!

Think about powerstretch fleece baselayer. Rab make a good version. I'm sure other manufacturers do them too. About €75 though can be more. Warm and not restricting.

Burton heavyweight are good. You can find them a lot cheaper than the RRP if you dont care much about the pattern

+1 for powerstretch as a warm base. Often used in Himalayas at -20 deg & below. Can also go, for ultimate warmth, to a Rab powerstretch bib version which avoids any cold spots around the waist/kidneys & adds a bit of core warmth. Also patagonia capair great , super comfy base with mix of merino & capilene.
I wouldn't call the primaloft/nanoair/nanopuff stuff a base layer, these are warm mid/action layers, great under a shell for the top, but under insulated ski trousers??

You are correct - which is why I listed Expedition Weight Base Layers as well. I listed them in case the OP was using a Shell, or wanted more insulation than provided by their Ski Pants.
