Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Random, and quite poor, photoshop of Andrew on a horse hovering above a chalet in Verbier!

He's only recently actually paid for it. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10385777/Prince-Andrew-settles-6-6m-debt-French-socialite-buying-Swiss-ski-chalet.html

Rumour has it that it's more 'Granny's living room' inside, than chalet chic.

Mollerski you seem to be bang on.

These do seem to be accurate pictures. Frankly it looks really ordinary inside. Very dated.
I have been in some very, very nice chalet which are a fraction of the price of this one.
17M?.....bizarre.

When I saw the place was in Switzerland I was convinced Nixmap had been unmasked. It would've made so much sense.

You should look at what Real Madrid sold their training ground to Bank of Spain for…… then look at the replacement & its costs.

Not in Verbier, I wouldn't have thought.

Given the sky-high prices there, I actually think £17m is quite cheap.

Mike Ashley is around the top of the pile on that one. He has two chalets linked by a tunnel.

@Contrarian, blimey ... you’re right. I just had a scan of what’s available right now in Verbier, and prices indeed are sky-high. 10-25M not uncommon. Apologies... I am used to properties further down the Valais, on both sides of the hill. Crans Montana also is eye-watering, while some of the villages still have lovely places at much, much lower prices.

For example, this one needs updating, but is a great house in a nice village. Ten minutes by car to Barzettes station in Crans Montana.

@valais2, yes, it's incredible really.

I'm actually looking to buy in the 4V area, but focussing on Nendaz, Le Chable, or La Tzoumaz. These villages are FAR cheaper than Verbier itself, and of course allow access to the same fantastic terrain.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

OK - so it’s not ski-in, ski-out (although the 17m Royal one isn’t either?) I do like this one...far more imperial...fraction of the cost...15mins to Crans Montana.

But then location is everything I guess...and this is all academic since I neither have 17m nor 3.8....

@valais2, yes, that's beautiful. It probably wouldn't appeal to our non-sudatory prince, though. He prefers this style of architecture:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunninghill_Park

(which he can then sell to one of his 'mates' for £3m over asking price).

Contrarian - very wise. We really appreciate the access to the small villages given by the Magic Pass, but would go to Vercorin, Chandolin, Nax etc even without it. For sure, as BobinCH makes clear, Verbier is quite special in terms of terrain, but we love the ‘secret’ locations scattered around the Valais...

@valais2, good to know. I'm completely ignorant about any areas beyond the 4V, but I should really check them out.
