Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anoooother 3 Valleys bus question!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Arriving tomorrow in Courchevel with some friends and work colleagues. For a number of reasons i won't go into, i need to go to Courchevel 1850 to collect some skis and a lift pass before heading back to Mottaret.

I'm hoping to arrive in 1850 around 14.30, before grabbing stuff. Dumping some other stuff, and then doing Verdons/Vizelle and skiing into Mottaret. That's if EVERYTHING goes to plan! (Unlikely). The lifts close (i think?) at 16.20, so it's tight. I'd probably also have to buy a half day ticket to supplement the one i'll be collecting for the following days.

If i miss the lifts for any number of reasons, has anyone local got any bright ideas to make the trip? As i won't have huge amounts of stuff i was contemplating taking the bubble from 1850 to le Praz, then either getting a taxi or a bus on to Meribel from there (then the free bus up to Mottaret). Trying to keep costs and journey times down.

Have I missed any other bright ideas?

There are no buses between Courchevel and Meribel, the furthest you can go is La Tania. There's a regular bus from Le Praz Alpinium to La Tania so the cheapest cost would be a taxi (or hitch) from La Tania to Meribel Village and then the Meribel ski bus from MV to Mottaret, changing at the Chaudanne, I think.

Altibus is letting me book a journey from Courchevel 1850 to Meribel for today (at various times), maybe try there. If you can get to Meribel centre, the intra-resort shuttle should help you the rest of the way. It isn't clear if there are any transfers involved...

My only hesitation is that some buses say "Ce car dessert Courchevel puis Méribel" and others "Ce car passe par Méribel", perhaps there's a nuanced difference between the two that I am missing, but my first instinct is that they both mean the bus will stop at meribel.

But, their site let's me try to book any of the 2 types of bus, so who knows.

Thanks for the replies folks. I made it up the mountain in plenty of time to dump a bag, poack a smaller rucksack and get over the mountain via Pralongs and Suisses!
