Poster: A snowHead

There's now a new kid on the bootfitting block in Yorkshire.
Frazer Shand was the bootfitter/tech for years at 47 Degrees on the Fulham Road in London and I first met him when they became one of my Quiver Killer insert retailers back in 2011. When 47 Degrees closed in 2014 he moved up the road and joined the Profeet team were he's been their Manager/Buyer/Fitter until this summer. Over the years I've sent many of my London customers to Frazer and they've all reported back that his knowledge, expertise and customer service has been second to none.
Frazer has now moved back to his native Yorkshire to set up his own specialist bootfitting/bootfettling operation called the Foundation Lab which is based within the Bennetts Winter Sports shop which has been on Sheffield Rd in Barnsley for many years. Frazer's new business goes live next week and details of his services/prices can be found on his website at https://www.foundationlab.uk/

Frazer has fitted me about 5 times in 20 years and he has always been excellent. Good Luck Frazer!

Thanks for the heads up. I don't need new boots just yet but having someone 'local' will be a big advantage.

Thanks for the tip. I had new boots fitted by Frazer this week. Excellent service. He even gave me a "Snowheads discount".

@Fistral, You were lucky, he's no longer there. Anyone know where he's gone to?

Unfortunately things didn't work out being based in Bennetts so as from today Frazer is now at Glide & Slide in Otley so contact them for an appointment. His own website will be up'n'running again soon once he amends it etc. And Frazers existing customers can get full support from him at his new location.

@spyderjon, Many thanks I will give it some thought. The irony is that I had my current boots fitted at Glide & Slide a few years ago and the fact that I'm looking to replace them tells its own story. And it's turned a one hour round trip into a 3 hour one.
Still, nice people, nice shop.
Although Rivington Alpine is only a bit further away and my route would go right past Chill Factore to test them out. Decisions, decisions.

That’s a pain, was actually going to get in touch with him today to make an appointment for fitting my boots bought in 2020, unless they’ve decomposed in the box due to lack of use…… now he’s at G&S I guess that not going to be possible. Will head overt t’hills and see Graham at RA in that there dark side of Lancashire then…..

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@Markymark29, why would you not be able to see him at G&S? They don't do appointments, or didn't used to, but you could ring up before you go and check he's in.
But anyway, a young lad there fitted my last pair, can't remember his name but he knew his stuff. Still skiing them happily six years later.

I was in G&S a couple of weeks ago for a running repair on my boots; which they did FOC - thanks guys; and it certainly looked like they were doing appointments
