Huge drama at the airport this morning - in possession of 3 PCRs within 48hrs, TUI only accepting 24hr antigen tests for some reason (AFAIK Italys own requirements haven’t changed). Staff doled out Chronomics 15 min tests to 40-50% of the queue. All unnecessarily stressful!
Glasgow flight but appears to be company policy?

@DidierCouch, wow. That’s pretty annoying considering the antigen tests are cheaper to buy too.

@Mr.Egg, TUI staff. I pointed out what the actual entry requirements were and all they would parrot was “It’s on our website” (which it is, although the same website has Austrian requirements wrong…). One finally admitted that no emails to that effect were sent (plenty of nonsense about lithium batteries though)

My experience of EasyJet in August was that one should turn up at the airport VERY early, in order to be prepared for bizarre unilateral rule changes.
…which is why I am generally avoiding flying, and chose to drive to Andorra.
With children, luggage, non-refundable tickets, and an hour drive back to our previous location, it was quite a scarring experience.

Likely to have been half a dozen changes before then.

After skiing in Italy last week I can assure you plenty don't and just have the cheap plain (generally blue) ones. No one seemed bothered so long as you had some type of mask.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

That has all changed, at least in my experience. There and back to Italy last week couldn't have been more quiet at the airport, very good experience. One of the 2 terminals at Gatwick is shut as it's so quiet.

Seems the staff are misguided.
There own guides states either Antigen or PCR!?!
".You need to book and pay for either:
• An antigen (lateral flow) test, to be taken in the 24 hours before your flight arrival time.
OR
• A PCR test, to be taken in the 48 hours before your flight arrival time.."

Crystal’s online page for the restrictions in various countries has been consistently wrong all along. Whoever updates it hasn’t got a clue what they’re doing.

@albob, thanks. Yes, we were with Crystal. The nicer of the staff we dealt with said at the end that she agreed the TUI and Crystal websites were inconsistent with each other.
