Poster: A snowHead
|
Hey guys,
New poster here. My partner and I have decided to live in a resort for the entire month of Feb. Been doing a bit of research and I’m not quite sure what to expect. Switzerland and Austria have been on top of the list.
The main problem has been finding accommodation for 4 weeks. Any chance you guys could help me out with some price, location and/or suggestions. Or perhaps one of you snowheads has an apartment to rent?
Thanks,
Kuba

Does it have to be February? That's peak time in a lot of European resorts due to school half term holidays. Accomodation would be easier to find (and generally a good bit cheaper) in March.

@Kj1334, welcome to snowHeads.
Will you have your own transport?
That will probably open up more options. For example, if you look at the Ski Amade region in Austria, you could look to base yourselves in a town, then drive to any one of the numerous resorts in that region - there are many. There may be more apartment options in a town, especially given that February is one of the busiest months of the Winter season (what with school holidays etc). Focussing on one resort and seeking an apartment for the month could be a challenge regarding availability.

Based on personal experience trying to do the same you will struggle to get 4 weeks in the same accommodation at relatively short notice in what is high season. It might be easier if you’re willing to swap part way, either accommodation or resort. Of course you might get lucky with a Covid cancellation.
It’s definitely worth trying the local tourist office and/or their web site.

@Kj1334,
An idea of your budget & how you plan to travel to resort would help suggestions.
