My wife and I are in Verbier this week and we're keen to get some recommendations if you would be do kind.
1. We're looking for a decent guide/ski school one day to find some 'off the beaten track' off piste skiing. Does anyone have any recommendations of companies or a guide for this?
2. Any 'must do' mountain lunch restaurants in the 4 valleys to head to for a long (maybe boozey!) lunch.
3. A ski school that will do half a day ski racing coaching with gates. I appreciate this is a bit niche and might be the same recommendation as the guiding.

1. we always use Les Guide de Verbier but availability might be limited at short notice: https://www.guideverbier.com/ N.b. most of these guys are definitely guides rather than ski instructors (as I understand it basically it's a pain to become a ski instructor so lots don't bother, but it doesn't mean they are any less proficient). If you'd like formal instruction then do specify.
2. Chez Dany Verbier. Great for lunch, but I prefer dinner then late night sledge home. Important to book (guides are good at helping you squeeze in).
3. Don't know but speak to whoever you get re: 1. above and they might be able to help.

If you're over on the Savoleyres Sector, then Chez Simon is worth a visit. It's not owned by Téléverbier and is an independent. Perhaps take a break there in the morning first and see if it suits, and then do lunch. My favourite is the Croute aux Champignons with a bottle of the owners rosé or humagne rouge from his valley vineyards. The photo' is from January 2019. It's got an indoors and outdoors and as you can see, is lovely outdoors if the weather's good. It's a sort of middle-of-the-road place: not the mass catering of the Savoleyres station but not an exclusive 4* type either.
Another place in the Savoleyres Sector is Croix de Coeur which is fairly small inside but has a terrace. As you can see, there's parking for your helicopter if you have one, and there's an altiport on it's northern side if you're arriving for lunch by 'plane. Personally, I prefer the atmosphere at Chez Simon - Croix de Coeur is a great view and nothing wrong with it, it's just more anonymous.

1)Best as above is to contact the guides office for availability. If you want to join a group Powder Extreme might have some availability. I think todays your last chance for any off piste as will be very wet from tomorrow and sludge by end of week even if sunny
