Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Poster: A snowHead
What is the form if we dont use a lift pass as the French restrictions put us off travelling? I've pre paid for 2 week passes at Les Arcs (bought months ago). If we dont travel and use them can we get refunded? Or is it a sunk cost?

Many thanks

From Morzine Office (Portes du Soliel pass) earlier today after pushing again for a refund, citing the Swiss airport covid situation -

"Thank you for your interest in our ski area.

With the health crisis, things can change from day to day. Yesterday, transit via Switzerland required a 10 day quarantine before coming to France. Today this is no longer the case and transit is allowed. You will find useful information on this subject below :

Whilst the Swiss have tightened up entry requirements for a stay in Switzerland, British nationals transiting to France via Geneva airport, do NOT need to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. However, they do need to fill out an entry form. You can find out exactly what is needed for your situation https://einreisecheck.admin.ch/home
More information from the UK government is https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/switzerland/entry-requirements

Borders are currently open between the UK and France for those taking the train, driving or flying to French airports, such as Lyon, but there are additional checks. The fully vaccinated can travel easily, but need proof of vaccination. Children under 12 years old have the same vaccination status as parents. Over 12s need to be vaccinated (2 doses) or have a negative PCR test. More information can be found https://uk.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-rules-for-travel-between-France-and-the-UK-28918

Regarding your ski pass.

You already have a ski pass:

- If our borders are closed by the French government, we will offer you a credit note or a refund.

- If our borders remain open, we will offer you a postponement of your pass to a later date during the 20-22 winter season or a credit note which will be valid until the end of the 22-23 winter season.

If you do not have a ski pass yet:

We invite you to order it as soon as you have the confirmation that you will be able to join us..

We remain at your disposal for any questions.

Best regards."

I've pushed for a refund as I want to keep my options open. They are not being fair imo, it may meet their T&Cs but it's poor customer service, leaves a bad taste - a pass is not something tangible, it's just an e-booking form and a credit card transaction at this stage, so easy to reverse. If they took a 20 euro cancellation fee that would be fine but no. Jet2 are doing the same. Unimpressed. Sad

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Credit note seems a fair compromise - not their fault if someone is choosing not to travel or has difficulties with airline cancellations.

Otherwise it would be travel insurance fodder.
