Hi All,
Just looking to rob some collective knowledge and advice. We are hoping to head away on a family ski holiday in late February. It's the first time bringing the nippers. One will be just 5 and going to ski school. Youngest will not be two yet so will just be playing in the snow and bossing us all about.
I'm looking to get some gear for them both. As it is pretty much a single use purchase don't want to spend too much but need them to be comfy, warm and dry.
I had a look and sport pursuit has some Fundango gear at reasonable prices for 5 year old 10k water and breathability. It does state the it's only water resistant whilst se.with 3000 say waterproof. Any completely confused. Any recommendations, advice or experience would be great.
5 year old runs hot so want to have reasonable breathability.
Thanks
Emmet

Yeah, was thinking of them and decathlon as well. Just a bit stuck as know my way around gear you are going to keep for years but less so for short life stuff

Decathlon have some adjustable length trousers (pull n fit or something) so you may get a couple of seasons out of them plus, if relevant, if you get them in black or red then can be handed down so what you buy for 5 yr old now could be used by 2yr old in a few years. We've had several seasons wear out of Lidl / Aldi gear.
For the 2yr old, if there are still in nappies, an all in one will do the trick - my kids had one from Columbia that was great.
Echo lots of gloves - at least 2 pairs each, maybe 3 each.

Two as a minimum. Lots of Haribo for a quick sugar fix, and an all in one snowsuit for the little one.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@musher, and there was me thinking the Haribo was for me!
Great to have two recommendations for decathlon. Cheers.

Make sure the gloves are mitts too - fingers are tricky for the smalls to negotiate into place properly.
I remember that when ours were small, LEGOwear gear was really good, and lasted really well. You quite often find it on places like SportPursuit at a good discount too.

Highly rate Didriksons here, plus a lot of their stuff has an extend a size option, so they usually last two winters. Little one (4) has better ski gear than us, but I cannot be doing with him getting cold, wet and whiny (and he does like to lay in snow, cover himself in it etc as well as ski) whereas I can suffer in silence! We also use his ski jacket all winter as a school coat, his thermals, gloves, snowboots and socks all get plenty of UK use and even his sallopettes get a decent look in usually. We do spend a lot of time outside at home though. The only thing we put away and don't look at again until the next time is his ski helmet.

@mah, thanks. Probably more than looking to spend but they look lovely. Will see if I can find any second gear.
