hi everyone, I'm cursed with flat feet! 
Anyone who has it will know that skiing can be agonising. I went ladt year and it was almost unbearable! I rent boots and can't afford to buy a pair. Does anyone have any insoles that work for thm or any other flat feet busting remedies to make skiimg less painful![/i][/url]

If your feet are that flat then see your doctor, he should refer you to a podiatrist who can prescribe (free) orthotics which are custom made for you. Had mine a few years now and they swap in/out any shoe/boot/skiboot.
You can buy all sorts of arch support insoles from chemists or a ski boot fitter can make one up for you, either of these options will cost you money from your own pocket of course.

I got the Boots Orthoheel recommended by the physio who dealt with my Achilles because I was pronating ... They are great and I put them in my ski boots and they are great. But I'd suggest a trip to a recommended boot fitter to get some - am interested that they are apparently free on NHL

I had inserts made for my pronation (found becasue I had terrible achilles tendon problems when skiing, as it happens), but they weren't free. The footbeds are carbon fibre with a vulcanised leather covering that's now wearing through as they're 6 years old and are worn all day every day. might have to see if can get them recovered. never had a problem since getting them though

I'm not sure that you shouldn't try and see if there is anyway you can buy your own boots to be honest.
If you're committed to going skiing, it is the one thing that most people agree to being the single best investment to enjoying one's skiing and getting the best return on the investment in this type of holiday. Especially if your feet will be more likely to cause discomfort in hire boots.
FWIW, I also have flat (and wide) feet, but almost never get any discomfort. I had some custom fitted, played around with a few insoles before settling on a good set-up. I'm sure that the (possible) £175-£200 on boots, plus the fitting cost would prove to be a sound investment over time, even if it feels financially a bit of a stretch now.

I’ve just bought ski boots at the resort in Colfosco and the feet feel great but the front of my shins are agony. I wear inserts for overpronation in normal shoes but the boot fitter in Eduardos said the Salomon boot technology would sort that, they also said that the tongue of the ski boot would mould to fit my calf. My calves hurt badly all day and after taking off the boots, my legs had mounded to the boot not the other way around, I didn’t have them tight in fact as loose as they’d go, but tight over the feet. I’m 370 euros down and think I’ve made a mistake, any advice?

Bump-tastic! I would say that you're going to need more than a couple of days for the boots to bed in. Also, you want to do the boots up so that the heel is secured and that normally means doing the leg clips up rather than the ones over the foot. This will improve blood supply to your foot and ankle and may well help the pain.
