Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Short break recommendations

Urgent help required to organise something for a very autistic and very ski deprived son . Last few trips have had to be cancelled and we’re now at the point where he’s not functioning due to uncertainty of half term. Would like to send him and his Dad for a few days end of January. He is 15 and will be double vaccinated. Where would you recommend? Having lost a fair bit of money recently on aborted trips , I’m happy to go package with insurance.
Ideas much appreciated.

Crystal Ski & St Johann or Passo Tonale. Both sub £400 + lift pass on top for half board.

@pinotgrigio, that's a tough one since one of the things that would make the trip work for your son would be certainty it will happen. And the ability to plan ahead with any certainty is very thin on the ground this year!

The best thought I can offer is Switzerland, simply because skiing kept open there last year. And given it is a short break, somewhere easily accessible from the airport. An example might be Le Chable, it is directly accessible by train (needs a couple of changes from Geneva airport, but the Swiss are pretty good at ensuring those are easy) and has a gondola connecting to the big Verbier domain as well as another smaller set of slopes the other side of the valley. Several Snowheads know that area well and can give detailed advice.

Not sure which package operators would manage a short break there though.

@pinotgrigio, have a look at Sunweb, a quick look for Jan is here. Some SC air BB places in Switzerland for approx £800 for two inc lift passes, and try Snotrex they do a similar thing. I haven’t used either yet myself but many have and give good feedback. You might be able to do a few days and get weekday flights which should be cheaper, or do Sat to Weds at those prices you can leave an apt early and still not feel cheated financially. Good luck whatever you choose.
