Sunweb (Tour Operator)
Sunweb collaborates with European Gay Ski Week
Sunweb today announces a partnership with the European Gay Ski Week. This event will take place in March 2024 in Val Thorens. Through this partnership, Sunweb is the first international tour operator to support the European Gay Ski Week. Thanks to the collaboration, booking the ticket for the festival is super easy, because the flights, a ski pass and accommodation and - most importantly - the Event Pass are now in one package. Sunweb is the only travel organization associated with the festival and creates and maintains the booking site and takes care of both the entire trip and the stay of the holidaymakers.

@stanton, Let us know how you get on.
Although I'm not sure how inclusive a 'gays only' event is

I don't think it says "Gays only"!
However, it does say "when 2,000 of our LGBTQI+ community and their allies descend on Val Thorens!"

That's a shame to read - the past 2 years its been in Les Arcs, and everyone - by which i mean CIS as well as LGBTQ+ - and the shopkeepers, restaurant and bar owners have been enthusiastic and positive about it. We - my family - certainly enjoyed the additional colour and vibrancy in resort.
Wonder what happened to make them move?

Probably the deal. If VT threw in supercheap lift passesor or free party venues etc it can move the needle. There is a competitive process between resorts to land the spending power that comes with these event weeks.

But perhaps the event move every couple years? After all, gay or straight, they may want to ski different mountains.
I too, enjoy watching the “additional colour” if I happen upon such events. Not sure I’ll go there if I know ahead of time there will be extra large number of blokes there (not to mention the fact those blokes are off limit to me )

Snow pride has been in Tignes every March since 2008 - we’ve been out there while it’s been on, every one is super friendly that week and even though we just happen to be in town as part of a longer trip when it’s on, i always enjoy it. Less of that aggressive bravado and toxic masculinity from all the straight middle aged blokes desperate to relive something from their yoof but just end up acting like twonks and generally being rude.

@Extremophile, +1. It’s a great week and demonstrates the huge array of personalities in the Rainbow Community.
